Show-a-Trade Car AutobidderThis was built for a client who approached me from word of mouth. In the beginning... This applications runs quietly in the background while performing parsing of HTML content across frames and over SSL/Forms to create a structure of Make, Model. Conditions and Pricing
The client then defines conditions of whether or not they would be interested in a car in the Make/Model, Make or globally (i.e. Manual only cars). Once the conditions are set, there is a base price they would pay for the car. Say it's reached the requirements of being newer than 1996, and manual. The client is now willing to pay ¥100,000, so they would now set the base price to ¥100,000. Addition to this, they can add prices for additional features. If it is a certain chassis model (may mean it's 4WD and Turbo) they can add ¥50,000 more to the base price. If the colour is blue (because a client wants a blue car), the chances increase of winning a the car with a higher bid, so he adds another ¥50,000. These combinations can be put together to make endless pricing judgments. Finally if the calculated total is above the reserve, then it makes a bid. Current/Past Bids These can be viewed a page which allows the client to view all the past bids per date with links to the cars details. The page contains a frame which has the Show-a-Trade website so the client can click on the "View car" link and it brings up the cars details. Screenshots
